USA mobile operators no longer support 2G or 3G service. As a result, traditional voice services are no longer available while traveling in the USA. However, users will be able to use Over-the-Top (OTT) apps such as WhatsApp, Facetime, Skype, etc.
When traveling to the USA, make sure to travel with an LTE and/or 5G compatible device, activate Data Roaming and change your Network Mode in your phone settings: Android: Settings -> Connections -> Mobile Networks -> Data Roaming ON and set your Network Mode to 5G/LTE/3G/2G (auto connect) iOS: Settings -> Mobile Data -> Mobile Data Options -> Data Roaming ON and set Voice & Data to LTE.
Traditional 911 emergency services while in the USA may not be available or fully functional due to their changes.
