Darnel MixX!E York, Founder, Band Leader and Bassist (left) of Band-of-the-Year winner, Da Big Bad XP Band, is teaming up with Telco Provider-of-the-Year, TelEm Group, and its Marketing team, represented by Marketing Officer, Stephani Jong Loy, to celebrate 50 years of St. Maarten Carnival, in April.
Pond Island – Past Band of the Year Winner, Da Big Bad XP Band, are teaming up with Carnival’s main sponsor, TelEm Group, to bring some non-stop fun to St. Maarten’s premier Carnival festivities in April this year.
The winning band, has announced that it will be rolling out at this year’s historic carnival celebrations with TelEm Group, just days after the company was named Best Telecommunications Provider of the Year in the Daily Herald’s annual Best of the Best awards.
TelEm Group says management and staff are very excited that the two winning teams can collaborate in a big way and at the same time make a milestone of carnival celebration on the island.
Both band members and TelEm Group personnel will be co-branding a carnival truck that will wind its way through the streets, with TelEm staff, volunteers, supporters and friends in tow.
“We are all beyond excited to be teaming up with such a popular carnival band who will bring some high energy to TelEm Group’s blazing red color for Carnival 50,” said Marketing Officer Stephani Jong Loy.
Stephani says it’s not too late to join in the fun and to be part of the TelEm Group/ Da Big Bad XP Band troupe during the highlights of this year’s event, including The Road to Carnival, the Grand Parade and the Closing of Carnival.
Stephani says more details of the upcoming events and the days the band will be rolling out will be announced in the media, posted online, on Facebook and at www.telemgroup.sx, and carnival fans are advised to keep tuned in for more information.
